Aultman College Community Education Offers Spanish in Health Care –
According the 2010 U.S. Census data, more than 16 percent of the U.S. population is of Hispanic or Latino descent. While Ohio’s population as a whole is declining, the Latino population in the state is increasing each year. (2011, Ohio Latino Affairs Commission Report.) To aid health care providers who are serving an increasingly diverse society, Aultman College Community Education is offering Spanish in Health Care. This course will teach participants how to improve their communication skills with Hispanic patients by learning basics of conversational Spanish in a medical setting. The course uses interactive role playing, speaking demonstrations, listening comprehension and group discussion. The class is held at the Aultman Education Center.
