AULTMAN COLLEGE RECEIVES OBN APPROVAL FOR BSN DEGREE

During its May board meeting, the Ohio Board of Nursing (OBN) granted conditional approval to Aultman College to begin offering a pre-licensure (four-year) bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree. Aultman College is also seeking approval from the Higher Learning Commission for the BSN program.

“This is an exciting day for all of us at the college,” said President Rebecca Crowl. “As the longest running nursing education program in northeast Ohio, we are starting a new chapter by transitioning from an associate’s degree to a bachelor’s degree in nursing. We work hard to align our degree offerings with what we see occurring in the health care industry, which is increasingly turning to bachelor’s degree prepared nursing to fill entry-level positions.”

Aultman College will accept its last group of students for the associate of science in nursing program for the fall 2017 semester.

Other degree programs under development at Aultman College include the bachelor of science in health sciences with tracks in health care leadership, health education, and health informatics and the bachelor of science in social work.
