AULTMAN COLLEGE RECEIVES CANDIDACY APPROVAL FROM CSWE

FINAL APPROVAL GRANTED FOR NEW SOCIAL WORK DEGREE

CANTON, Ohio (July 18, 2019) – Aultman College’s social work program moves on to the next step in the accreditation process. The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) notified the college this week that it has been granted candidacy status.

Candidacy status is the last step in the process before full accreditation is granted. The achievement of this status allows graduates of the Aultman College program to sit for the exam to become a licensed social worker (LSW) with the state of Ohio and to apply to master of social work programs.

“It is a very exciting time for Aultman College, the social work program, and its students.  Candidacy status affirms to our surrounding communities and students that our program meets the national standards required for a social work graduate. This further validates a student’s pursuit of a license to practice within our community in the high demand social work job market upon graduation.” said Ron Davis, LSW, director of the social work program.
