Shannon Helfinstine joined Aultman College in 2010.
Dr. Helfinstine is the College’s Institutional Research and Assessment Coordinator. This role is integral in reporting accurate data and statistics to accreditors and college constituents. In addition, she also currently teaches microbiology in an adjunct faculty role. Studying microbiology in graduate school helped prepare Dr. Helfinstine for teaching, assessment, and data reporting. She enjoys teaching future health care workers the importance of microbes - both the good and bad - in our daily lives. She often finds inspiration in her fellow faculty when assisting in their classroom assessment activities.
“As science faculty, I appreciate that Aultman College is an institution where the sciences are viewed as an integral foundation upon which our students will become competent health care workers.”
Outside of work, Dr. Helfinstine enjoys spending time with her husband and son, working in the yard, making homemade wine, and trying new foods and restaurants.
