Find out what makes Aultman College one of the best schools for nursing near you:

How Many Years is a Nursing Degree?

At Aultman College, we value the time you spend with us. That’s why our Associate of Science in Nursing program is designed for many students to complete in five semesters. So if you’re wondering if you can become an RN in two years, you can.

Our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is designed more as a four-year degree. Both programs offer direct entry, so you won’t have to sit around to be accepted to limited spots. You can start your journey to a nursing career on day one.

What are the Different Nursing Degrees?

With multiple pathways to a nursing degree, you’ll find the perfect fit for your goals in nursing and patient care. Our accredited nursing programs include an ASN, BSN, and an RN-BSN completion program.

We consistently achieve a higher NCLEX passage rate than the Ohio and national averages. Our NCLEX pass rate for 2020-21 was 94.37%. Ohio and national averages usually lie in the upper 80 percentages.

Class Size of Nursing Programs

We are a student-focused college, with nearly 350 full- and part-time students. Our student-to-faculty ratio is 5 to 1.

Small class sizes ensure personalized attention from faculty—80% of our classes have fewer than 20 students. In fact, it’s one of the reasons so many students choose to attend our college.

For example, one student felt the smaller classes offered a more focused learning experience and time with professors. They also felt it helped Aultman College quickly pivot during the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic.

Cost of Nursing School

Aultman College is the lowest-priced private college with some of the best outcomes in Northeast Ohio. Our graduates' pass rates on exams exceed state and national averages. Aultman College has been ranked 25th in the nation for alumni earnings and success.

For example, our tuition rates for the 2021-22 academic year are as follows:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing: $9,105 a semester (12-18 credit hours); $777 per credit hour (for less than 12 credit hours)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing: $9,105 a semester (12-18 credit hours); $777 per credit hour (for less than 12 credit hours)
  • RN-BSN completion program: $285 per credit hour

College is one of the best investments you can make in yourself. We want to make sure it’s affordable. We offer financial aid resources for scholarships, loans, grants, and federal work-study.

Northeast Ohio Location

Our school shares a campus with Aultman Hospital. It’s Stark County’s largest employer and the area’s only Magnet designated facility. Our students receive incredible clinical and learning experiences in this health system. The location also provides premiere access to clinical placement and career opportunities.

The Aultman College campus is located in Canton, Ohio, which is about one hour from Cleveland and Youngstown. You get the small town feel with easy access to larger cities.

Canton is home to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, William McKinley Presidential Library, and First Ladies’ National Library. The city features museums, arts and music districts, shopping, outdoor recreation, concerts, festivals, and more.

State-of-the-Art Technology

Nursing students need hands-on experience, which is why we provide state-of-the-art technology. Classroom instruction is combined with simulation technology, allowing students to interact with patient simulators that can blink, talk, and breathe.

For example, the Anatomage Table and Clinical Anatomage Table are virtual anatomy dissection tables. Students use them to study and experience full-size human cadavers with 3D dissections and annotations.

We recently added five medium-fidelity simulation models to our nursing skills lab. Heart and lung sound simulators train students where to position their stethoscope to hear heart and lung sounds correctly. A blood pressure training system allows students to perform blood pressure auscultation procedures properly.

Using incredible technology provides students with hands-on experience prior to interacting with patients. This elevates their education along with their level of patient care.

Is nursing the hardest degree?

Are you concerned about the difficulties of a nursing program? For a while, social media posts claimed that the Guinness Book of World Records ranked nursing as the toughest course to complete. Yet this wasn’t true because “toughest” can’t be measured objectively.

Getting a degree in nursing won’t be a walk in the park – but no college degree is. At Aultman College, our class sizes are small, so you’ll have more quality time with instructors. And, with access to labs that feature state-of-the-art equipment and our health system affiliation, all the keys to success will be in your hands.
