Aultman College Immunization Requirements

Aultman College encourages students to obtain immunizations as both a preventative measure and if applicable, to meet the requirements of our affiliating clinical agencies. Students must be current and up-to-date with all health requirements based on their program of study. Failure to meet these requirements could result in the inability of the student to attend a clinical experience.  

The following are options to complete your health & immunization requirements:

Option 1:

The blood work, drug test, and immunizations may be performed at your expense at Aultworks.

Option 2:
The blood work and immunizations may be performed at your expense by your primary care physician.

Tuberculosis Screening - required of all students:

Two-step TB skin test must be completed which involves two administrations given 7-21 days apart and read by a qualified reader after  48-72 hours of placement as part of the college admission requirements. In addition, TB skin testing is required annually for all college students. Documentation of past two years negative TB skin test may be acceptable.

RADIOGRAPHY and NURSING STUDENTS:

MMR (Measles, Mumps & Rubella)

Two doses of MMR vaccine given after 1st birthday at least one month apart are required of all students born after 1957 (provide documentation).

OR

Positive results for Rubeola and Rubella

 

Varicella (Chicken Pox)

Provide physician documentation that you have had the disease

OR

2 doses of varicella vaccine (provide documentation).

OR

A positive blood test showing immunity for varicella.

 

Tdap (Tetanus, Diptheria, and Pertussis)

Documentation of a three-dose series (commonly given in childhood) OR a Tdap booster within the past 10 years. 

Other immunizations, if applicable

(i.e. influenza, COVID-19, or approved medical and/or religious exemption) may be required as part of the College’s clinical affiliation agreements.

Recommended Immunizations

Hepatitis B (Series of 3 injections)

This vaccine is optional but if declined, a waiver must be signed and returned to Health Services. Provide documentation of the completed series
